A Very "Strange" Halloween

This past summer Zach and I got really into the new Netflix series, "Stranger Things." It's a suspenseful, sci-fi, mystery series set in the eighties starring Winona Ryder and a whole crew of very talented relatively unknown actors (particularly the child actors!). So what better way to celebrate one of our new favorite shows than by having a very strange Halloween and dressing up as our favorite characters from the show!

Here is Finley as the character, Eleven. Eleven is a young girl who has lots of supernatural powers. She has spent her whole life in a lab where she's been studied and used for her unique abilities. She finally breaks free and is met by a group of boys her age whose friend has recently gone missing. With the help of Eleven (who they nickname Elle) and her powers, they embark on a mission to find their friend.

Eleven's distinctive characteristics are her shaved head, the nosebleeds she gets when she uses her powers, her love of Eggos, and her loyalty to her friends.

Here's Zach as Dustin--or as we call him, "Toothless." Dustin is just the most awesome kid ever. He is the quickest to believe in all the insane stuff going on in their small town and has a great lisp due to his lack of his two front teeth haha. He has some pretty great one liners throughout the show and he's just so lovable (just like Zach!). One of my favorite Dustin lines is, "Why are you keeping this curiosity door locked?"

Dustin's distinctive characteristics are his curly hair, his red/white/blue baseball cap, his great graphic tees, and his impressive skill with a compass.

And here's me as Barb. Barb is just the best. Obviously. Her best friend is a girl named Nancy who is totally in love with a guy who is definitely just using her. Barb has all the common sense. She can sense when something bad is going to happen, she really doesn't want to get involved in the sketchy "popular" crowd, and just wants to focus on doing well on her next exam.

When she accidentally cuts her finger at a party she didn't even want to be at anyways, things spiral downhill for Barb and she goes missing just like another boy in town. To me, Barb is the forgotten victim of the story. She is lost, but almost no one cares. No one goes looking for her except Nancy who even kind of forgets about her by the end! They better give her the justice she deserves in season two. That's all I gotta say.

Barb's distinctive characteristics are her ruffle-y high neck shirts, her high waisted "mom" jeans, her short red hair, and her large glasses.

🎃 Happy Halloween!    ðŸŽƒ
